InnoVEX 2023 Concluded with Blumind Awarded the Pitch Contest Grand Prize

InnoVEX returned in full to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 (TaiNEX 2) 1F from May 30 to June 2, 2023. After 4 days full of insightful forums, startups demos, and other exciting events, InnoVEX 2023 was concluded with the Pitch Contest Winners’ Award Ceremony.

Worth over USD 30,000 and co-sponsored by Plug and Play Taiwan, the winner of the InnoVEX 2023 Grand Prize is Blumind, Inc.; a startup representing Canada that focuses on Ultra-low power AI Analog Compute. Blumind’s proprietary semiconductor architecture leverages the best of machine learning (ML), precision signal processing, in-memory computation, and brain inspired processing to solve various pain points of AI application and integration.

Aimed for international startups, the Startup Terrace Award is sponsored by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA), Linkou Startup Terrace, and Yawan Startup Terrace and provided to 2 startups. The prizes are awarded to: Blumind Inc. from Canada and DEEPX Co. Ltd. From South Korea. DEEPX Co. Ltd. is a fabless company that specializes in AI silicon, carefully designed to take advantage of the core properties of neural networks, allowing edge devices to run the latest state-of-the-art AI application at full scale more efficiently and sustainably than any other AI chips and solutions.

Sponsored by ResorTech EXPO 2023, the Okinawa Innovation Award is awarded to Asiabots Limited. Asiabots Limited delivers a more cohesive, integrated customer experience through an omnichannel AI Customer Service experience.

The Taiwania Capital Innovation Award that prioritizes IoT and Biotechnology is awarded to LEDA-CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. LEDA-CREATIVE provides customized, professional AI algorithms and complete solutions for various industries.

Focusing on 5G, AI & IoT; the Qualcomm Innovation Award is awarded to Mechavision Inc. of Taiwan. Mechavision Inc. focuses on creating the new generation of human-machine interface with their T-Skin tactile technology.

The KPMG Award which is dedicated for Taiwanese startups this year is awarded to BELX BIO-PHARMACEUTICAL (TAIWAN) CORPORATION. BELX focuses on developing novel botanical pharmaceutics to treat chronic hepatitis B, tumors, and other aging-related chronic diseases.

Sponsored by Plug and Play Taiwan, the winners of the Plug and Play Award will be invited to speak in the Plug and Play Summit Pitch Session. This year, the winners are: Adirtek Co., Ltd.; Ataya; and Coolso Technology. Adirtek is devoted to developing various SECS / GEM solutions for machine makers and system integrators. Ataya is focused on building a universal connectivity platform for Industry 4.0 that is simple, secure, scalable and application-aware. Coolso develops Human Computer Interface solution using self-owned unique patented muscle bio signal technology.

As ESG has been included as one of the main focuses of this year’s InnoVEX, the organizer also sponsored the ESG & Green Tech Award which is awarded to TSGC Technologies Inc. TSGC Technologies Inc. provides automated PV recycling equipment to recycle 100% of materials from solar panels.

The Future Star Award which is aimed for early-stage startups is awarded to Lipro Vision from Taiwan. Lipro Vision combines a transparent micro-LED display with a metalens to design a new type of optical engine.

The co-organizer, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) stated that the InnoVEX 2023 Pitch Contest was joined by international startups from 12 countries/areas; including Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, US, Brazil, Canada, South Korea, Chile, Egypt, Germany, and India. 35% of the Pitch Contest participants were from overseas with the remaining 65% originating from Taiwan. This year, the startups competed for the prize pool worth a total of USD 120,000 ranging from cash prizes, networking opportunities, professional services/ resources, and more.
