2015-12-24

Asia's largest ICT B2B trade show COMPUTEX TAIPEI will be held from May 31st- June 4th, 2016. Last week, nearly a thousand exhibitors attended COMPUTEX info sessions. COMPUTEX co-organizer Taipei Computer Association (TCA) has officially announced, COMPUTEX 2016 will showcase new themes that meet global demand in each exhibition hall: TWTC Hall 1 features SmarTEX to display latest IoT solutions; TWTC Hall 3 hosts the startup event InnoVEX; Nangang Exhibition Hall emphasizes on smart business and manufacturing solutions.

TCA says, as IoT technology becomes more available and living quality standards have become higher, smart products have become the mainstream of consumer electronic products. Many companies have actively launched Total Solutions in order to meet market demand. Therefore, the scale of SmarTEX at Hall 1 is at least 50% larger than last year. Within SmarTEX, smart home and entertainment is the most popular area for exhibitors. The largest exhibitor in smart home and entertainment area, Askey, used to be a communication product exhibitor; but in 2016, they will exhibit their new smart home solutions, such as the integration of air quality monitoring, temperature and humidity detection, home security monitoring and other functions. Users can be informed and control their home environment directly via mobile phone app. Other smart home and entertainment exhibitors include Loopcomm, PROMISE, Trans Electric, StarVedia, Brinno, Full Enterprise, Unitech, and so on.

There are over a thousand of Taiwan companies that have registered to exhibit at COMPUTEX 2016. Big-name companies from previous years will continue to attend COMPUTEX 2016. According to the registration information, there are many small and medium companies attending, and they have transformed their services from single hardware production, to customized hardware and software integration platform, and even provide a variety of products with IoT standards and interfacing capabilities (such as OIC, Allseen, Google Thread Group, Apple Homekit etc.) This shows that COMPUTEX exhibitors have become more application and integration-oriented, and it also shows COMPUTEX’s determination to support Taiwan's ICT industry in transformation: from a manufacturer in a supply chain to a major member in global Internet Computing Ecosystem.
